Lifeline provides essential humanitarian information to communities affected by the conflict or by natural disasters in Sri Lanka through media productions, radio and print productions. It covers aid efforts by Government agencies and national and international Non-Government Organizations. Programming includes information on relief efforts and services available to those affected by the conflict, and changes or updates to government policies and humanitarian operations. With a strong emphasis on including the voices of displaced communities, Lifeline also focuses on health, education, gender issues, child protection, and other areas impacting on people's lives.
Lifeline is broadcast in Tamil on select regional radio stations, and reproduced in print for direct distribution to targeted areas. Lifeline is produced by Internews Network, an international organization working to improve access to information for people in more than 40 countries around the world.
